The UMIX PFEIFER tension rod system is used in a wide range of structures as bracing, ties, hangers, or prestressing elements, designed to transfer tensile forces. Thanks to its high fatigue strength and effective corrosion protection, the UMIX system is also perfectly suited for demanding bridge structures.

Product types / design load capacities

The UMIX system offers a wide range of 22 tension rod sizes, from M8 to M120, with a design tensile capacity ranging from 19 kN to 5249 kN.

The standard UMIX tension rod consists of a rod threaded on both ends and equipped with fork ends, locking nuts, and pins. Upon request, variants with spade ends or sets of hex nuts and washers are also available, allowing for optimal configuration to meet specific structural requirements.

Depending on the project requirements, tension rods rods can be complemented with tensioners (adapters, couplers), intersection couplers for cross bracing, and connectors.

Rods in sizes from M8 to M14 are available in lengths up to 6 meters, while rods in sizes from M16 to M120 are available in lengths up to 12 meters.

Material / Execution

The standard rods used in UMIX tension rods in the galvanized version are made of steel with a yield strength of 530 MPa. Other steel grades are available upon request. All components of the UMIX system, including the threaded rods, are hot-dip galvanized in accordance with ISO 1461.
